smoking

Smoking is a practice in which a substance, most commonly tobacco or cannabis, is burned and the smoke is tasted or inhaled. This is primarily practised as a route of administration for recreational drug use, as combustion releases the active substances in drugs such as nicotine and makes them available for absorption through the lungs. It can also be done as a part of rituals, to induce trances and spiritual enlightenment.

The most common method of smoking today is through cigarettes, primarily industrially manufactured but also hand-rolled from loose tobacco and rolling paper. Other smoking implements include pipes, cigars, bidis, hookahs, vaporizers and bongs. It has been suggested that smoking-related disease kills one half of all long term smokers but these diseases may also be contracted by non-smokers. A 2007 report states that about 4.9 million people worldwide each year die as a result of smoking.

Smoking is one of the most common forms of recreational drug use. Tobacco smoking is today by far the most popular form of smoking and is practiced by over one billion people in the majority of all human societies. Less common drugs for smoking include cannabis and opium. Some of the substances are classified as hard narcotics, like heroin, but the use of these is very limited as they are often not commercially available.

The history of smoking can be dated to as early as 5000 BC, and has been recorded in many different cultures across the world. Early smoking evolved in association with religious ceremonies; as offerings to deities, in cleansing rituals or to allow shamans and priests to alter their minds for purposes of divination or spiritual enlightenment. After the European exploration and conquest of the Americans, the practice of smoking tobacco quickly spread to the rest of the world. In regions like India and Subsaharan Africa, it merged with existing practices of smoking (mostly of cannabis). In Europe, it introduced a new type of social activity and a form of drug intake which previously had been unknown.

Perception surrounding smoking has varied over time and from one place to another; holy and sinful, sophisticated and vulgar, a panacea and deadly health hazard. Only relatively recently, and primarily in industrialized Western countries, has smoking come to be viewed in a decidedly negative light. Today medical studies have proven that smoking tobacco is among the leading causes of many diseases such as lung cancer, heart attacks, COPD, erectile dysfunction and can also lead to birth defects. The inherent health hazards of smoking have caused many countries to institute high taxes on tobacco products and anti-smoking campaigns are launched every year in an attempt to curb tobacco smoking.

MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!

Assalamualaikum and a very good day.

A few days before, we celebrate our country’s independence day. I hope that all of us remember that very amazing day. I think most of us will recall the picture of laungan merdeka,  on the 31st August 1957 at Dataran Merdeka by Tunku Abdul Rahman. A very historical moment. By thinking about the past, we are proud of those heroes that fought for our merdeka. But now it is our responsibility to maintain the merdeka and further develop our nation, together.

We must realise that we all have a big responsibility especially those who are born after the hard times because we are the heir of the nation. And the two most important tools to enable us to do that is education and a correct mindset.

And now I would like to propose to my fellow friends to think for a while about what can we give to our beloved country, Malaysia...do you have any idea? Love Malaysia as you love yourselves. Why? Because of Malaysia lah we are here today...

I love you Malaysia!

Malaysia Boleh!!!
Selamat Menyambut Hari Merdeka

Express Bus

First,I'm sorry for posting this article late.

During last raya school holiday, I was forced by my parents to went back home by using bus. That was really last minute plan by my mother. As you know, the bus ticket were usually sold out during the festive season,so I just pray to God hoping that I will get the bus ticket. Finally, thank God because I finally got the ticket to Muar which is my hometown after 'tawaf' around the Malacca Sentral.

I got the bus ticket from the counter that known as Malacca - Singapore Express Sdn. Bhd.The bus ticket was totally different then usual ticket that I bought before this.It was made from very thin paper and it was quite big.I check every detail on the ticket and I got very interested on the rule stated behind the ticket.

The interesting rules sounds like this
The passenger must travel by coach on date and time stated on the ticket, otherwise it will be forfeited. The company will not be responsible for delay occasioned by breakdown, accident and any other causes.Whilst every endeavour will be made to adhere to the time table.Company reserve the right to reserves the right to alter it without notice and cancel the running of any coach in the event of tempests.

Next,the most ridiculous things is
no trade goods may be carried and no bulky articles may be carried inside the coach.Passenger must produce all personal belonging for custom examination and must personally declare any dutiable item in their possesion. Nothing must left in the coach by any passenger.

Until this part
the company coach may leave behind any passenger who is delayed for more than half an hour by the custom....
haha
do you think the passenger have enough time to do this...not make sense right...

that from me.

WARNING! BORING TOPIC. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Assalamualaikum and a good day.
As the title states, I am currently really really out of crazy, mind-blowing ideas to post in this lovely blog (sorry teachers, :D ).Hence, today I would like to talk about an idea that is relevant to all people mostly students which is, (drum rolls).. WEIRD BUT EFFICENT WAYS TO SAVE TIME.

The ways are:
  1. Sleep more – if you learn to take SUPER NAPS, you will have more ENERGY throughout the day. Although you may lose some time from napping, you will be able to work more EFFICIENTLY, which will give you more time.
  2. Eat healthy meals – changing your diet maybe hard at first, but eating BALANCED meals will affect how you do your daily tasks. It will give you more ENERGYso you can get your work done faster.
  3. Do less work – a lot of the things you do on a daily basis, don’t need to be done.THINK about your daily routine and cut out anything that isn’t essential. You will be surprised on how much time you are wasting.
  4. Tell people what’s on your mind – being HONEST and to the POINT is a great way to accomplish things QUICKER. . Just think about boardroom meetings, people are hesitant to say what is on their mind, which causes meetings to drag on forever.
  5. Have some fun – all work and no play is a good way to make you feel depressed. get some FUN in your life, it will make you feel BETTER, work HARDER, and hopefully make you want to accomplish your DREAMS.
  6. Adjust your working hours – many companies are very flexible on what times you can start and end work. If you work in a heavy traffic city such as Kuala Lumpur you can easily spend an hour or 2 commuting to work during rush hour. But if you adjust your working hours you can cut back on driving time DRASTICALLY
  7. Don’t multi-task – when you multi-task you tend to switch between what you should be doing and what you shouldn’t. By SINGLE tasking you are more likely to do what you are supposed to be doing.
  8. Get rid of distractions – things you may not be thinking of can be distractions. Whether it is gadgets or even checking emails every 5 minutes, this can all distract you. By getting rid or distractions or controlling them, you will have more TIME on your hands.
As the proverb says, TIME is GOLD. Therefore always manage your time properly just like you manage your golds. There will never be 10:31 p.m. at 2nd September 2011 again or 10:32 p.m. at 2nd September 2011 again or 10:33 p.m. at 2nd September 2011 again or... you get it right?

In a nutshell, always appreciate your time and anything that is happening right now because it is never going to happen again. Lastly, I would like to wish a Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim friends and Happy Holiday to my non-muslim friends, although I think it is a little bit too late to wish but never mind ;) And good luck to all candidates for SPM this year, hope MRSM GEMENCHEH can get a remarkabkle results in SPM and TRIAL MARA. Hope we meet again after SPM =) and also, a round of applause to the English teachers for creating this blog, hurray everyone, love you all teachers, you guys are awesome :)

WHAT IS SUDOKU ???

Sudoku is a Japanese fun puzzle game. The puzzle consists of a 9 x 9 square grid that is divided into nine 3 x 3 squares.

To solve the puzzle, you must fill in the squares with the numbers one to nine. Some squares already contain numbers, known as 'givens'. The remaining squares must be filled in with the numbers not provided. The numbers one to nine must each appear only once in each row, column and 3 x 3 square.

Sudoku puzzle are logic puzzles. Using logical reasoning you decide how to place numbers into a Sudoku grid. There is only one correct answer for each puzzle. You need not guess to arrive at the answer. However, a single error throws the whole game out.

Although Sudoku grids use numbers, you do not need mathematical skills to solve the puzzles. To begin the puzzle you may start anywhere, but for many beginners it is easier to concentrate on the top three 3 x 3 grids.

This game is very tricky, and it can sometimes make you feel as if you are going round in circles. But by practising your skills on different puzzles and remaining patient, you will soon understand certain techniques that work well for you.
